"Widows" are the largest cobweb weavers. The Red Widow seen here is endemic to sand-pine scrub areas
of central Florida, her webs concealed in saw palmetto plants. She mates and produces a brood
in spring or early summer. Although venomous, there are apparently no recorded bites.
