Female jumping spiders use their silk to spin cocoon-like nests in which to lay their eggs. A male and female
will often inhabit a nest together. These small nests are usually found in secluded places -- behind
bark on a tree, inside a curled leaf, under a rock, in dense grasses, etc. Jumpers also make
these simple shelters to hide in at night and for security in cold or rainy weather.
