Below are two colorful pairs of Phidippus engaged in courtship. In the image at right, the male is
 gesturing with his golden-tassled front legs while flipping his abdomen from side to side.
While courting, both males below make an audible vibration by rubbing one part
of their body against another. This behavior is called "stridulation."
