Phidippus apacheanus

Male "Red Velvet" or "Apache" Jumping Spiders mimic the form and behavior of red mutillid wasps
(commonly called "red velvet ants" or "cow killers"). This jumper is found mostly in the
western USA, but its range extends from Montana to Mexico and Cuba, with
a substantial population in the drier parts of central Florida.
