Mastophora sp. --
The female Bolas Spider below is seen at left tending her unusual egg sacs. At right, she is resting on a twig
with her legs tucked beneath her. At night she dangles a ball of sticky silk at the end of a line and
simultaneously releases pheromones that attract male moths. When a moth flies within range,
she twirls her "bolas" and entangles the hapless insect. Pulling it in, she then eats it.
